Hi there, I'm James. I've been writing for about 25 years but I didn't release my first novel until 2019. That novel, Ziggurat, is available for free online. In fact I plan to release all of my books for free eventually right here on this site -- check under the Books tab. Right now it's my Wards of Minera series that takes up most of my time, with the conclusion to that series expected sometime later this year. I'm also a semi-prolific short story and flash fiction writer, writing mainly in the sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres. Some of those are here too.

I have other creative pursuits too; I design my own book covers - and I think they're OK! ✓ Bless the minimalist/low-art trend. I wrote the HTML for this website and a great deal of work went into making it look like it's from 1998. Outside of those things, I spend my days cycling, swimming and hiking with my girlfriend and my dog here in Victoria, Canada.
